Yes we do bulk bill for psychology sessions, but you must have the following:
1. Your Medicare Card
2. A valid Mental Health care plan from your GP.
3. A current Health Care Card, (if you are under 18 you do not need a health care card to be bulk billed).
You can speak to your GP about a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), this is essentially a referral from your GP to a psychologist. This will allow you to claim a Medicare rebate for the psychology sessions to help cover the costs. You need a MHCP if you want to be bulk billed. Please email your MHCP through to us after you have booked your appointment via HotDoc. Mental Health Care Plans stay valid for one calendar year (Jan-Dec).
Your GP refers you for 6 sessions initially, and after a review, you visit your GP again for a further 4 sessions. Alternatively, you can see a psychologist at Coordinated Healthcare without a MHCP, but if you don’t have one, we will charge you a private fee, and you cannot claim the Medicare rebate.
You can find out more about a MHCP here
The standard cost of a 46-55 minute session according to the Australian Psychological Society is $280 per session. Coordinated Healthcare offers the following discounted fees:
We charge TAC, Workcover, NDIS, MyAgedCare, and DVA clients the reference fees set by those organisations, ensuring no out-of-pocket costs for the client.
Our clinic charges private fee clients $150 for a 50-minute session. You can claim this amount through your private health insurance or receive a Medicare rebate of $89.65 if you have a MHCP.
If you hold a valid Health Care Card and a MHCP, we will bulk bill your sessions.
Yes you can if you have private health insurance and it does cover psychological services. The amount you can claim will vary depending on your coverage. Please email us the name of your insurer so that we can make sure we are registered with them. We are registered with most health funds. Afterwards, qur clinic can process your directly using Tyro HealthPoint
Coordinated Healthcare is predominately a telehealth clinic, we offer phone and video appointments and have the latest, secure telehealth systems. We strongly recommend a video appointment where possible. A face to face appointment can be organised but this will need to be discussed with the clinic first.
